— Games such as redneck golf and washers would be allowed, but couches, loveseats, recliner chairs and other indoor furniture would not, if a proposal to create a campground at Alpine Valley Music Theatre is approved.

Theater owner Live Nation wants to convert a parking lot into a campground next summer for up to 450 concert goers, but it must be approved by the town of LaFayette and the Walworth County Board, David J. Shaw, the theater’s general manager, said Monday.

Sheriff David Graves said that if the campground was approved, his office would need to increase security patrols there, meaning theater officials could expect to pay more for sheriff’s security.

The upside, Graves said, is that fewer tickets would be sold per concert due to the loss of parking when one of the theater’s four lots is used for camping, which means fewer fans on the grounds.
