Seven convicted sex offenders arrested during Halloween sweep

— Seven convicted sex offenders were arrested on Halloween for violating the terms of their supervision, according to a Walworth County Sheriff's Office news release.

Members of law enforcement, along with state probation and aarole agents, went to the homes of 70 known registered sex offenders on active supervision through the Department of Corrections.

Seven subjects on active supervision were found to be in violation of supervision and were immediately arrested and confined in the Walworth County Jail.

Two additional alleged violators now have warrants for their arrests, which will bring the total to nine violators.

The seven men arrested are:

1. Joseph P. Chapin, 54, Sugar Creek Township

2. Brent J Morse, 44, city of Delavan

3. Matthew L Camp, 19, city of Elkhorn

4. Steven J Moore, 27, village of Sharon

5. Thomas E Kemp, 55, Sharon Township

6. Walter J Opper, 26, city of Lake Geneva

7. Terry L Harmon, 49, Lyons Township

The Walworth County Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Registry Team and Probation and Parole Agents were assisted by police officers from the following jurisdictions during this operation: Whitewater Police Department, Elkhorn Police Department, Town of Bloomfield Police Department, Village of Walworth Police Department, Village of Sharon Police Department, and the Village of Darien Police Department.
