— A Harvard man was arrested last week after he was accused of poking holes in a medication patch of an Alzheimer's patient that he was caring for and licking the potent painkiller off his finger.

Jeremiah J. Healless, 25, of Harvard, was charged with aggravated battery to an elderly person in connection with the incident late Friday at Fair Oaks Health Care Center, a skilled nursing facility in Crystal Lake.

Healless worked as a nursing assistant at Fair Oaks since January and was fired shortly after his arrest Saturday, Fair Oaks administrator Joyce Surdick told the Northwest Herald.

The alleged victim’s family was informed of the nursing home’s suspicions and cooperated with the internal investigation in which a video camera was set up in the room.

The battery involved using a safety pin to puncture the patch.

SuperDave- I think it was probably from the undue pain that the patient was going through from not receiving his proper dosage of pain medication.

Sure this young skullful of mush is a total loser, but I don't understand the charge of "aggravated battery".
