Badger upsets Westosha Central in overtime

PADDOCK LAKE -- The Badger girls basketball team was not unfamiliar with their opponent heading into Tuesday's first-round WIAA regional basketball game against Westosha Central.

The No. 13 seed Badgers lost twice to the No. 4 seed Falcons during league play, but this time pulled out a 40-36 win to advance to Saturday's regional final.

Gina Ambrose led Badger with 15 points and seven rebounds and Lana Wieseman added 13 points.

Badger (6-17) plays at Kenosha Bradford (10-13) in a regional final game Saturday.

Badger (40)—Kopp, 1-0-3; Ambrose, 5-2-15; Fronberry, 1-3-5; Schulting, 1-2-4; Wieseman, 5-2-13. Totals: 13-9-40.

Westosha (36)—Reeves, 4-2-10; Lois, 6-5-18; Prokop, 1-0-2; Pohlman, 1-0-3; Cox, 1-0-3. Totals: 13-7-36.
