Elkhorn police officer in torch run to benefit Special Olympics

— Lt. John Anzalone of the Elkhorn Police Department will participate in the Law Enforcement Wisconsin Torch Run Thursday to benefit Special Olympics.

Registration for the Elkhorn leg is at 5:30 a.m., with the run beginning at 6:15 a.m. at the Walworth County Government Center, 100 W. Walworth St.

The Whitewater leg of the race starts at 7:40 a.m. in the city parking lot, downtown (next to Novak’s Restaurant). Officers throughout the state will carry the torch while running, biking, rollerblading or horseback riding to light the cauldron at the State Summer Games in Stevens Point.

The LETR is the largest grassroots fund-raising vehicle for Special Olympics. To make a pledge, visit: www.specialolympicswisconsin.org
