The Support Our Troops Committee of the Walworth County Council of the American Legion is seeking donations of baseball/softball gloves and balls to be sent to troops with ties to Walworth County currently deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The items can be either new or in repairable condition.
Sam Gonzales of the committee has offered to inspect the items donated and recondition them, if necessary.
Walworth County Council Commander, Peter Kahl said this is a continuation of the program started two years ago by Commander Rich Hinners, now deceased.
Feedback from troops who received balls and gloves indicated that they were immediately put to use in their spare time and were appreciated.
Items can be deposited in drop boxes in front of Legion Posts in East Troy, Delavan and Lake Geneva.
