WALWORTH COUNTY — Free Christmas dinners will be held at two area locations on Christmas Day.

In Elkhorn, the Kiwanis Club will hold its 33rd annual Christmas Day dinner, beginning with a carol sing-a-long at 2 p.m., and the meal at 3 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 104 Broad St. The event is for people who might normally be alone on Christmas, but would enjoy fellowship.

There is no charge for the dinner, but a free-will offering will be accepted. Those planning to attend should call (262) 723-3246 on weekdays between 9 a.m. and noon, no later than Thursday. If transportation is needed, request it when making a reservation.

In Delavan, Delavan American Legion Post 95 will host its 49th annual meal at the post, 111 S. Second St. Doors open at 10 a.m.

Carry-outs will be delivered around 11:30 a.m., with a dinner buffet beginning at noon.

Those who need a meal delivered or who need a ride to the post are asked to call the Legion hall between 10 a.m. and noon on Christmas Day only at (262) 728-8948.

Donations are welcomed, but not necessary.
