Whitewater police stepping up patrols to thwart bar-time vandalism
Read online
WHITEWATER An increase in bar-time vandalism in downtown Whitewater has police stepping up patrols.
City of Whitewater Police Chief James Coan told the Royal Purple that the majority of the vandalism includes damage to vehicles, public urination, knocking over garbage cans and stealing decorations.
"All of these things, in and of itself, may not seem like much, but when you put them all together it does reflect a pattern of conduct that is really of concern," he said. "It might seem fun to knock over garbage or pull over a tree, but obviously that is someone's property and they have to go out and clean it up."
Coan said the department has increased bike patrol Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. The Walworth Co. Sherriff's Department also has been sending its bike patrol to help increase staffing on busy nights.

I'm an "older Townie" from Whitewater, and having visited the bars in my younger days, I can honestly say that the college kids were pretty well behaved then. It was called RESPECT. Teach your children the meaning of the word......

maybe get with the university and make any conviction include mandatory suspension of one year from school. Mommy and Daddy would be real happy with wasting the money for their stupid disregard for others!!!!!!!!!!!
