Whitewater man faces charges after scavenging pot from massive growing operation

— A 19-year-old Whitewater man was charged with marijuana possession Thursday after authorities spotted him with five pounds of pot that he had apparently scooped up a the site of a massive growing operation.

Shawano County Sheriff's officials patrolling the Navarino Wildlife Area noticed Jacob Repinski behaving suspiciously.

Authorities had recently discovered and removed about 8,000 marijuana plants worth millions of dollars from the site.

A K9 unit picked up on the scent of drugs in Repinski's vehicle. Inside the car deputies found the marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia.

Repinski is expected to be back in Shawano County Court Friday.

Jacob, Jacob, Jacob, that was pretty stupid. Did you really think the police wouldn't be keeping an eye on a site they had already discovered.
