— An Elkhorn man serving time at the Sheboygan County Detention Center faces new charges after allegedly attacking another inmate.

David M. Azinger, 20, is serving a 30-month sentence for arson and theft. He's in Sheboygan under a program to house overflow inmates, according to the Sheboygan Press.

Court records show Azinger is charged with battery by prisoners, a felony carrying a maximum punishment of seven more years in prison. That includes a penalty enhancer due to Azinger’s prior crimes.

According to a criminal complaint:

The man Azinger attacked told police there was a running dispute between jail inmates in his pod and the prison inmates, who were in the next pod over.

The prison pod included several black inmates, and Azinger said Riemer had been saying things through a vent about white power and white pride. On Oct. 8, Azinger said Riemer sprayed urine on him through a crack in a door, splashing it onto Azinger’s face and chest.

Azinger attacked Riemer when both were at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting about 15 minutes later, punching him repeatedly.

That'll teach him to keep his face away from the crack in the door.
