LAKE GENEVA -- Over the weekend, police announced arrests in a string of burglaries that stretched from Lake Geneva to northern Illinois.

Police nabbed several suspects Thursday as they left the scene of a robbery at the Phillips 66 gas station on Grass Lake Road in Antioch Township, Ill., Lake County Sheriff Mark Curran said.

The Lake County News-Sun reported that the suspects include: Michael Boyle, 42, of Twin Lakes, Wis.; Randy O'Brien, 20, of Iron City, Mich.; Terrance C. Walker Jr., 22, of Elgin and Sean Kettledon, 25, of Paddock Lake, Wis. Police also charged a 16-year-old from Silver Lake, Wis., whose name was withheld.

The men remained in Lake County Jail on Friday, in lieu of $250,000 bond.

Police suspect one of the group held up the Lake Geneva Comfort Suites April 30, 2009.

The suspect entered the hotel, displayed a semi-automatic handgun and ordered the night clerk to put money in a bag.

The description of the suspect was similar to at least 20 holdups in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.

The spree ended around midnight Thursday, following the Phillips 66 robbery. Police agencies throughout the area were on a lookout for a black BMW driven by Boyle. The car was stopped near Spring Grove.

A search was conducted at Boyle's home, where police were recovered some of the money from the robberies. It's believed that Boyle spent $4,000 on his BMW, and another $7,000 to pay for his girlfriend's legal fees in a child custody battle.
